1. Get out More- Keep up some outdoor exercise even though the temperature drops, says Gary Rogg, M.D.

2. Don’t Skimp on Sleep- Sleep deprivation weakens your immune system, so go to bed at a reasonable hour, says Paul Lyons, M.D.

3. Clean Up Your Act- Wash hands frequently [assume with sterilizer] and wipe down door handles, keyboards, and other areas that accumulate germs, says Margaret Polaneczky, M.D.

4. Keep Your Hands to Yourself- During cold/flu season, avoid shaking hands, says Raul Seballos, M.D.
