God of Peace

May 15th, 2008

Peace is so much a part of God’s nature that “Peace” is one of His names. God also describes Himself as our peace. Not only does God promises peace to us, but it is actually one of His everlasting covenants with us. Enjoy this brief flash video on The God of Peace.

The Necessity of Strength and Courage

May 9th, 2008

Reading Level: Gratifying

We have all heard stories of people who displayed incredible strength and courage in the midst of dangerous or hopeless situations. Heroes, whether mythical or in real life, are examples of strength and courage. However, we rarely picture ourselves as being one of those people.

Yet the events of our lives necessitate the qualities of strength and courage. It is terrible for a person to live in a state of fear, without peace. Fear disables one’s ability to make effective decisions, hinders personal relationships, and creates harmful chemicals in the body that promote illness and disease. In fact, God repeatedly expresses to His people the need to be strong and courageous. God said through Moses, one of His most famous spokespersons, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified … for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deut. 31:6).” Later God advised Joshua as he began his new career, “Be strong and courageous. Be strong and very courageous. (Jos. 1:6,7).” The need for strength and courage is so important that God not only repeated it, but repeated it with the added emphasis of “very” strong and courageous! Have a Healing Morning

April 26th, 2008

Reading Level: Leisurely

Most of us get in the typical morning rush. We wake up in such a rush to get in to the office that the word “morning” does not even create a pleasant mental picture.

I’ve often read that successful people are “morning people.” That is characteristically true for several reasons. Part of which is that most successful people do not do the typical morning rush scenario. They get up early enough to have alone time, unrushed, to meditate, think, and envision the day and their future goals. The unrushed morning actually brings healing to their lives. Why?

This type of “healing morning” develops more creative thinking, a sense of peace instead of life being out of one’s control, and allows for help and direction from a person greater than yourself, from the One who planned each day of your life before it ever existed in the physical realm (Ps. 139:15,16).

If you’ve never thought you could hear God’s voice in your spirit, a search of the term “voice” in Scripture shows numerous references to the “voice of the Lord.” More specifically, Jesus said that those who seek God know His voice and follow it (Jn. 10:27). A Love That Isn’t Earned

April 3rd, 2008

Reading Level: Leisurely

The most basic desire of every heart is to be loved solely for your intrinsic value. Though it may be difficult to consistently find people who will fill this void, God’s love can fill that need for true, consistent love on a permanent basis.

People’s attitudes, actions, emotions, and commitment levels toward us vary greatly depending upon physical attributes, personal perspectives, illness, stress, hormone fluctuations, and on and on the list goes. It takes a person who is fairly self-disciplined and firmly committed to the relationship with us to demonstrate consistently positive responses in spite of outer stimuli or inner health variations. If one does not have such a person, or a good number of this type of people, in his or her inner circle, it creates the feeling of a great void in the need for love, often affecting one’s self-worth, peace, joy, and even job effectiveness. However, God’s love for us is based solely on our intrinsic value; in other words, because we are, we are of infinite value to Him. We do not need to feel pressure to earn His love, favor, kindness, or help. This realization can bring great relief from the guilt and lack of closeness that many people carry in their relationship with God Immerse Yourself in the Full Healing Contemplation Here »

The Healing Power of Peace

March 10th, 2008

Reading Level: Leisurely

As our physical, emotional, and spiritual healing are all intertwined—all affect each other, I wanted to share some thoughts related to peace in our spirits.

Public media faithfully brings to the forefront that a lack of peace is a major hindrance to our healing. All kinds of companies promote various activities to reduce our stress via sports, entertainment, or hobbies and ways to make us relax through exotic vacations, instructional books, yoga, and meditation. Peace is an important part of healing process.

Let’s look at things we inadvertently do to lose our peace and a few easy steps to replace those with positive action.

First, often when we pray to receive answers and/or peace, we leave the time of prayer as stressed about our lives as when we began. Immerse Yourself in the Full Healing Contemplation Here »

God Purposes Good Toward You

March 3rd, 2008

As I’ve mentioned in some other Reflections, how we perceive God’s attitudes and actions toward us affect our ability to receive healing and other good from Him. A recent study of the Hebrew definitions of the words “prosperity” and “peace” used in God’s promises for His people in the Old Testament was very revealing and deeply moving. Immerse yourself in this video blog to gain a thorough sense of the broad spectrum of good God purposes for your life.Click to Open This Receive Healing Video
